Every so often, I get this message from my browser(safari for windows) when I am surfing the web. I've never seen this before. Is there a settings I can tweak?

Maximum number of open connections reached.

Are there a lot of connections open, or is it just something that Safari is telling you?

If true, do you need that number open? I recall on IE4 (I think it was) that if you had over a certain number of tabs open a message came up warning of this and that Windows performance would be adversely affected. Perhaps the message you're getting is a similar thing.

I mostly use safari for windows and very little of IE9. However, I did remembered seeing the same message in the past on IE. At the most, I would probably have no more then 5 tabs opened at once on safari using one browser instance.

There are only one connection to my network; sometimes 2 with my laptop. That's all. I am not sure if that is the answer you wanted to know.

The error message is not from a pop up windows but from the browser itself.

I have encountered this error message too when I was using old Internet Explorer 8. I solved it by installing Google Chrome which is, in my opinion, actually better than any other internet browser. Still I can remember that I have run my anti.malware virus program which has found some bugs in my PC. So maybe this error message was showed because of those viruses or maybe it was only because of my internet browser. Maybe this would help you a little. Have a nice day.
