dave1977
HelloI am in the process of installing windows 7 on a Compaq nc6120 notebook and get the message box stating “required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. I have successfully installed windows 7 on a different spec laptop so the DVD is ok. Many attempts on the nc6120 have resulted in the same message. I deleted the partition and now it is requesting the device drivers which i can only assume is for the hardrive. I been on the hp website but the drivers are not there. Can someone please assist with where i can find the drivers?ThanksDave
Boris
Just a thought, is that quite an old device ?If so, are you sure that its optical drive can actually read DVDs or is it just a CD drive ??
dave1977
HelloThe laptop had windows 7 before and this was a reinstall. I know the user said they deleted the partitions and recreated, format drive and then tried.. does the system volume contain drivers? i am thinking maybe that is what caused the problem?how do get the drivers?dave
bludgard
Enter BIOS and change the HDD controller to AHCI.
