Irritating Phone Problem Fixed

I am now regularly using a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 smartphone – which has the best camera of any of the phones I have owned to date. But it has a very irritating feature. There is a small rocker switch on the side of the phone for adjusting the volume – and it is in the exact position your thumb falls when you take a picture in portrait mode. I am forever finding that just as I am about to take a photo my thumb inadvertently squeezes the volume rocker and the volume bar pops up on the screen – thus preventing the photo from being taken.

So I have just spend an hour “fiddling” in the garage and have made a small black plastic “guard” which is epoxy glued onto the side of the phone and prevents my thumb from operating the switch. I can still adjust the volume – but it requires a deliberate action with a finger nail. It is only glued to the main body of the phone and not the rear cover which is still removable.

Problem sorted. :good:
