Guest nellie2
I was watching this program on the tely last night about Paris and all the arty stuff there. I went to paris once and went to the Louvre and sat outside by the glass pyramind and cooled my feet in the pool there. Ok Im a heathen and it was a hot day!!! :) What I liked best of all about the Louvre was the architecture of the buildings believe it or not. To be honest I didn't actually get to go inside and see the Mona Lisa which was a great shame.I don't know that much about art........ I prefer the performing arts if I am going to be involved in art in any way. My favourite classic artist though is Monet I think. Or at least that is the sort of style I like anyway!! What about you ............ what do you like, if you could have one picture on your wall what would it be?? And it doesn't have to be an oil painting either......... could be a poster or anything that has moved you.
artist
I think most art is in the eye of the beholder - but I can't get enthusiastic about some of the stuff that goes in the Tate modern :(
moon
I, on the other hand, would explode with bliss if I could choose something from the Tate Modern Rothko room and have a room big enough to hang it in. B)

moon
Rothko's are monumental, silent and monolithic. They have true power. They remind me of the 'black slab' at the start of the movie, 2001. They compell the spectator to search for a handy bone. :D

artist
Moon - I have seen and liked his works before - I'm bad with names. :( You'd need a big clear wall to show those off! It's impossible to choose favourites in art - like music - there's so much variation! But I know what I DON'T like!!
moon
Good art, like bus timetables, is best discussed in private. B) :D
