ep2012
Hi all, I'm new to this forum & I'm HOPING someone can tell me they know how to solve this problem. I'm an XP Proff user who's avoided switching to Win 7 which I have on my laptop, but not my desktop. Since my desktop just got struck by lightening, I am getting a whole new system & am doing the switch to Win 7. In the meantime I've been forced to use my laptop. I don't really like Win 7 other than being able to search for programs on my computer, but I'm hoping within time & some MAJOR adjustments, I can learn to live with how different it is than XP. Now someone got the task bar to look almost 100% like an XP taskbar, so that's solved. <phew>, but here's this new issue. I like my windows to open from oldest to newest bottom to top. That's any software, whether it's Thunderbird, Firefox, Chrome, etc. On Win 7, they stack the windows from oldest to newest top to bottom. I do NOT like that & I noticed it takes more energy for my hand to reach higher up to get to my most used windows which are always opened first. PLEASE tell me there's a way to switch it so I can have it the way XP was. Thanks Michelle
Irene
Hello ep2012, welcome to Windows Forums. :D Lots of information about using multiple windows in the following link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/manage-multiple-windows
ep2012
Thank you for the warm welcome Irene :) So I read over the page, & unless I'm just too tired, it didn't answer my question about how to stack the windows vertically so my first open windows is at the bottom, & all other windows stack on top of it to the top. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I am trying to understand what you are doing, but I cannot understand what you mean by "bottom to top"; can you post a screenshot of that? (My Windows 7, same as Windows XP, lists the tasks in the taskbar from left to right.)
ep2012
Hi, No, LOL, I mean when you mouse over open windows, it opens up the stack of windows so you can pick which one you want to go to. Now speaking of left to right, I'm also having that problem that the open software should start at the far left, then every software I open after that should continue to the right. This way I know where everything is since I'm a very fast worker. It's not doing that for me :( It's doing it for some, but not all. Explorer is now far left even though Skype & my Elance tracker open first. I've attached a SS. Thanks :) Michelle
