Alan2273
There are lots of different specifications for your laptop, but the good news is they all support a 64 bit OS.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
How much memory do you have on that system? There is no point of going 64-bit if it's 4MB or less.

Boris
Ah, you have either a T6500 http://ark.intel.com/products/39311/ or a T8100 http://ark.intel.com/products/33916/ - both of these will run a 64bit O/S Use the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor to check if your 1555 will have any problems with Windows 7 Similarly http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows-8/upgrade-to-windows-8 for Windows 8 compatibility.
