RobertC
Hello RobertC, welcome to Windows Forum. :D Something here might help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2669244 Hi Irene, Thanks, but no use. I think the problem is a corrupt file in Windows Vista. I updated to 7 some time ago and when the current problem arose tried reinstalling 7 again, but this was denied. Sadly my Vista back-up discs were overwritten.

RobertC
There is no way that I can re-install Visa as the backup discs were over written.- herein lies the problem. As my computer is some years old now it is easier to invest in a new one. Thanks to all
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Avoid Windows 8, go for Windows 7. I've heard that W8 is even worse than Vista!
-pops-
I've heard that W8 is even worse than Vista! It is! I've reverted to W7 after upgrading to W8 on one of my current machines and a new machine I have was bought specifically without a Windows operating system so that I could install W7.
