max789
Hi, all If a Windows XP machine is deployed only to run a few legitimate programs, say, stock trading software from eTrade, and never used to browse the internet, would it be safe to continue running it after April 2014? The computer is behind a hardware firewall and connected to the internet to obtain real-time stock price data. It's otherwise fully patched, security-wise. Thanks in advance! andsome
Safety problems can only occur of you go on line, or use a memory stick from another computer that has a virus or malware. If the programs are already installed, and you don't install any more from suspicious sources, you are fine.
rong
I shall still be using it as W7 which I have on a laptop won't let me do certain things and W8 by all accounts isn't worth the DVD its imprinted on
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I shall still be using it as W7 which I have on a laptop won't let me do certain things... Just curious: what is it that XP can do but W7 not?
rong
It's not that XP can do anything more but that W7 wouldn't let me organise photos how I wanted, it kept putting them in numerical order when I wanted to mix the photos from two cameras in the order of how things happened, I know I could have renamed them as I went along but that would have taken ages. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
That's how I keep my photos on W7. How does it not let you do that (ordered by date, rather than name)?
rong
What it was doing was putting one set of photos together and the other set of photos together when I wanted them mixed
