dahermit
When Windows is opening; "Preparing your desktop", this message comes up: "There was a problem starting, C:\users........Conduit\BackgroundContainer.dll" If I could start windows step-by-step, I could find the program that is trying to load and presumably eliminate it. The problem is, I am old and do not remember how to do that. Can someone please give me the step-by-step on how to do it?

dahermit
Thank you, that youtube vidio resulted in a fix. However, being hearing challenged (too much gun-fire when young), and the guy having an accent, I have to stop, back it up, and listen again several times to understand what he was saying. Nevertheless, it resulted in a fix. Thanks again.
Alan2273
Glad it worked, there were other resolutions but they meant editing the registry, which can go very wrong.
