Site Secure!

Good Evening!

The forum was migrated to a new server a few moments ago; as part of the move, I have taken the opportunity to configure and enable SSL.

SSL is slowly being adopted as the standard connection now, and although this is just a small forum, we are just as much a target as any other site. So you can now go to sleep in the knowledge that every word you post, is done so without anyone listening in!!!

I believe I've got everything configured correctly, but please let me know if something doesn't work as it did prior to enabling SSL. I have been advised that IE running on Windows XP may not like the configuration due to the site being connected on a shared IP, but XP support expired earlier this year, so no one should be using it, right?!

FYI - If you haven't already checked the certificate for details, www.startssl.com is where it came from. Any 'human' can sign up, and once validated, you can get Class 1 certificates for free.

Morning Craig!

Is there anything required for the individual Member/User to do?

Any settings to adjust/check in the various browsers in use?

No action required by the members. While performing tests, one little niggle appeared, that was when viewing a page in IE that had content (images as an example) that were linked from another site. As these images were over normal HTTP, IE popped up a message asking if I wanted to display content from non-secure sources. Since hitting the allow button the first time, it hasn't reappeared. Google Chrome continued without any prompting.

If this gets raised as a common query, I'll look to reverting back.

Looks Ok for me, but I haven't been active lately due to domestic problems. Latest in the saga is that herself fell in the bedroom 3 weeks ago and generated a 3 in cut over her eyebrow - 11 stitches (2 am). Last Saturday 4 am she fell and dislocated her shoulder and chipped the top of the humerous, Been a nightmare lately. Got to see to her again now - will due an update in the lounge.
