:cray: I had a steroid injection this morning, into the heel of my left foot - I have had plantar fasciitis for quite a long time.

It was incredibly painful; even more than the PF has been. I think everyone in the entire building should have heard me shriek as the needle went in and my GP continued with the process. I only hope and pray that it sorts it out, because I would be very relunctant to have another one. I have to confess that the Doc did warn me, before I made the appointment, that it was a rather painful excercise.

My comment to the Doc at the end, was that it was worse than giving birth. His reply was, that it didn't take as long though.

I used to have steroid injections into my knees. I was usually given a local anaesthetic before the steroid went in and also excess fluid build-up removed - giving more room for the stuff.

Anyway, after a number of these over the years (I had kneezles from about the age of fifteen) my knee joints are well and truly fubar. Ankles and hips aren't too flexible either so I'm reduced to walking stick/crutches or wheelchair to get around and quite powerful analgesics to keep me in a reasonable frame of mind.

What I'm saying is, Irene, don't put up with crap about pain with the shot. It is easy for them to rectify that and don't have too many of them - or you'll end up with jelly ankles.
