Belatucadrus
What is the benefit Probably not a great deal if you're not doing anything that requires the processing of huge data files, be it game, video or really serious industrial grade number crunching then 8GB should be more than sufficient. You could use something like Meminfo to give a real-time display of RAM use, give you some idea what percentage of your existing RAM is used at the moment. D4\/!d
Funny you should use the phrase number crunching. The other day I said that to a a young techie and they looked at me blank.Prolly didn't know what a 286 was either. Anyway, thanks, you've confirmed my thinking.
D4\/!d
I am trying that Meminfo program. It is suggesting I have just 3.29 fo my 8GB.I'm confused. OS: Win7x64 Ult [late edit]or is that the utilisation ie ~40%. Doh!
Belatucadrus
If your utilisation is 40% then the result of adding more RAM will be the proverbial Sweet FA. If you regularly run 80 to 90% and may max out then by all means add more.

LoganeMilligan
If you already have 8 GB RAM and Neither a gamer, nor video editor. So you don't need to upgrade it. It's enough RAM to do anything Except Programming at any framework and playing a heavy memory storage game.
