How do I change the name of the account from administrator to my name??? Or can't I?? Chris Posted October 13, 2003 Report Share Posted October 13, 2003 Look at the bottom of the pic ;)Yes create a new account, the admin account will disappear and your new user account will appear. Your account should be admin and you'll have admin rights.Actually when you start in safe mode you will again see the admin account as well as your newly created account. I was worried by all the problems listed on PCA, but concluded that almost all of these were on upgraded computers, and not on new ones. I have found it to be extremely stable. On the one occasion when I really buggered everything up and the computer when doolally, I closed it down and rebooted. I put my new PC together and loaded XP last weekend as you all know. But I was having a little problem on boot up. The comp was really slow for about the first five mins... as if I had about a million programs all working at the same time. Guest nellie2 Posted October 18, 2003 Report Share Posted October 18, 2003 ok... well to answer your question Ellas..... pin one on the floppy drive is normally next to the power cable thingy. so I just plugged the floppy cable in with the red stripe going into what I thought was pin one.... but it wasn't cos it was on the other side.
