We first went to Ripon and then by various back roads up past Fountains Abbey and down into Nidderdale where we had a lunch of Bacon butties and pots of tea. We continued almost up to the top of the dale to Lofthouse where we turned North East and over the moors to Masham. At Masham we went NorthWest and over into Wenslydale and on to Newton le Willows where we had afternoon tea, before returning to the second driest area in the country.
