mikef Posted October 19, 2003 Report Share Posted October 19, 2003 Pretty poor advice for a lot of people as well, as it tells me to use XP's firewall when I'm using zonealarm and to automatically download all XP updates, I prefer to see what I'm downloading and some of the XP recommended updates are just unnecessary for me. Guest nellie2 Posted October 19, 2003 Report Share Posted October 19, 2003 most shiny new PCs that are bought in a shop don't come with AV or firewalls..... internet virgins are really wide open to all sorts of nasty things.If you have a firewall then as Powerless has said.... you already know the basics i would have thought.Something is better than nothing. It is up to people like us to go out and grab these poor uninformed lemmings and educate them, show them how to protect themselves and make the WWW a wonderful experience for them :blush: speach over!!!
