I haven't got much of a clue yet, other than a SATA 7200 120G hd ( perhaps 2) and USB 2. Any advice ? They give me the dosh after I've spent it. It would be nice to get a decent monitor in with that- CRT's have crashed and I've seen good 19" for £120 BUT - I think I'll spend extra on the screen later. I've got a couple of useable monitors that will fill in . So, 500 for everything else, inc. vat. A gig of DDR would be nice ? :)EDIT: I've already got the software, Photoshop 7 and W2K Pro. Guest Grim Reaper Posted October 30, 2003 Report Share Posted October 30, 2003 baring in mind that you are trying to build a graphics machine, do you want the latest all singing all dancing graphics card or are you willing to settle for anything less??do you need a new mobo and cpu as well, also, case, modem, sound card, speakers, case........what do you need new and what can you recycle.if you want that all singing graphics card it will use a sizeable chunk of your budget!one other major consideration is which brand of cpu......intel is more expensive than AMD...... The graphics work is photo-manipulation and web-building, no gaming at all but I want to get as far as I can with Macromedia Flash as a creative tool.
