moon Posted October 30, 2003 Author Report Share Posted October 30, 2003 I'll tell you why I want SATA. When Rosi has made a few quid with her graphics skills I want to build my own audio machine. That's going to require silent running and SATA cabling seems to partially solve a space/heat problem for me in a heavily insulated box. Unless you want this to be a fully upgradeable machine. It is going to be a while before SATA make an outstanding difference.At present I don't think you will see a vast improvement with a SATA hard drive over a ATA133 7200 for the work you want to do. The 1 gig of ddr ram and a 2.0 gig amd cpu is a wise choice. The savings made from the board and hard drive would enable you to get a better graphics card.
