Guest nellie2 Posted November 2, 2003 Report Share Posted November 2, 2003 I thought you might like to know what I did on my hols........ so here is a bit of a rundown for you.Sunday... arrived at 7 in the morning, Greek time, that is two hours ahead of here, had been travelling all night. Totally knackered but afraid to sleep because there was this stupid welcome meeting to attend in the afternoon and I was afraid to miss it. Spent the day wandering about Pefkos and getting to know the place.Monday... hire car was delivered... :) a snazzy jeep, trouble is that they all drive on the wrong side of the road, the gear stick is in the wrong place and there are sheer drops off the sides of these big mountains..... scary. Ended up going to Lindos and going up to see the Acropolis on the back of a donkey.... I walked back down.Tuesday... ventured a bit further in the car and went to the place where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean... amazing. I actually stood with one foot in the Aegean and one in the Medi!!Wednesday.... Last day of the car and just drove about all over the island really. Ended up in a local bar and got absolutely smashed......... very very very drunk. But a good time was had by all apparently!!!! :blush: Thursday... it rained and I was ill all day.......... never never never touching ouzo again.... Finally started feeling human at about 8pm... so I went to bed :( Friday........ no car........ lovely day....... spent the day on the beach and playing in the sea. The breakers were a bit rough though and I popped my hamstring. Luckily I only pulled it but it was very painful at the time and still is.Saturday.... another nice day, not travelling until late at night so another day on the beach!!!Lovely!! :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I didn't fancy driving there and a local ex-pat told me they had a funny one way system that isn't marked but everyone knows about!!! :o so that was it, no way was I driving in Rhodes. Could have got the bus but the weather was so nice on Friday that I just didn't get off the beach...... plus to be honest I was still feeling a bit fragile!!!!
