I was told that the manufacturer of the Balance Trainer has been very co-operative and together with some judicious raiding of funds the equipment has been delivered. It's still in boxes waiting to be checked out but there's already a queue waiting to have a go with it. Some of the other patients there were also looking forward to having a go. I hope to post some details after our next visit. Wont be for a couple of weeks because Anne had another bad fall this weekend and is still shaken up so she needs some time to get herself back together. Then they will able to start working on her again. Sandra diagnosed that as well as her right kneecap mis-tracking, hence she's wearing a knee brace - big improvement - her right foot droops. As she always moves off with her right leg her foot doesn't come off the ground properly she she tips forward and crash bang. She's now got what looks like a garter which connects to a bit of Velcro attached to the front underside of her shoe. Touch wood it's having an effect. doug Posted November 5, 2003 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2003 I meant to say that I had a very heartening chat with one of the other patients, this morning. I've been watching his progress and kidding him on from time to time. He told me that today was his last day as an in-patient and he goes home tonight. He then starts as an out-patient in a couple of days time. He was really chuffed. I was able to turn round and say to another in-patient, who was really struggling that joe was like him last year and now look at him!You know I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how much s**t life is throwing at you and any anyone close to you - if you look around there is always someone else in a worse state. Andsome, you must have missed my previous post where I was able to report that I had handed over a cheque for £1000. I've left the account open with the £1.00 (this included the £0.04 interest - friend? Gordon having snaffled £0.01 for tax).
