Boris
I've been by someone at work to recommend a 128MB Graphics card as a Christmas present. The budget they have for it is "about £40 ? but no more than £45"Its going to be for "general" use plus some FPS games - MOHAA, Delta Force sort of thing. I've come up with these 2 so far :- Sapphire Radeon 9200SE Atlantis 128MB, AGP 8x, ATI 9200SE, TV-Outhttp://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?action=...5&view=detailed£43.47 inc VAT + deliveryDABSValue GeForce4 MX440-8x 128MB DDR AGP VO (actually by Inno3D ?)http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components...?quicklinx=2T3K£37.26 inc VAT + deliveryOther opinions would be appreciated - I'm not the world's expert on graphics ! Guest Rebel=UK=
hmm id try to stear clear of the Nvidia MX series to be honest, just becuae it says geforce 4 makes people think wow a geforce 4 for 40£ , but its not a good card tbh ive found a Sapphire ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB DDR TV-Out - Retail (GX-024-SP) (£39.95 Including VAT at 17.5%)thats the one id go for r even better get him to save a few more pennies and get a GEFORCE FX5200 & im pretty sure you could buy a geforce 3 ti series up for not alot more. P.Sjust becuse its 128mb doesnt always mean its better then a 64, it usally means the maker of the card has used slower ram then on the 64mb version, so have added 128 to try to make it better. Hurdy
I upgraded my MX440 64mb to a Radeon 9600 Pro and to be perfectly honest there's not that much difference. If anything the MX440 was more stable. :D
Guest Rebel=UK=
have you got rid of the Nvidia Drivers cos if you havnt they can cripple your new Radeon cards preformance. And im sure if you played battlefield 1942 r another demanding game like that you would deffo see a makred improvment :shocking:maybe thats y your old card seemed more stable, get something called detanator destroyer to get rid of old nvidia drivers
