Chris
Whats the story here then?Would it be fair to say that OEM software cannot be upgraded to the next Version. An example would be Windows 98 to Windows XP.I'm not talking about updating the current software with a product update for example Updating Nero to verison 5.5.54 from 5.5.27.I ask this [well it was last Saturday] because i was "out shopping" and asked a "Sales Advisor" if Windows XP Home [OEM] could be upgraded to Windows XP Professional and he did not know. -pops-
Slightly different but I've upgraded OEM W98SE to ME and then to XP Pro. Also OEM 98SE to XP Pro.

Sir Radfordin
There is only a tiny difference in most cases between OEM software and retail software. I've never had a problem upgrading from OEM to retail or vice versa.
