doug
As I've mentioned before my M8, way down South, Has now got his new computer with NTL BB via cable. He has sort of got an internet connection but cannot get his NTL E-mail account to work. He has managed to send me a few messages via msn but that is causing problem No. 2. Is there any problem with NTL cable BB at present that may be preventing his access? He thinks he may have some sort of message but can't remember what it was. Anyway, whenever he tries to access his NTL Message box he's getting, to him and me from a distance, a message referring to POP account. Tried to write it down but he's even newer at this than me so I've treid to talk him through copying the info to his clipboard and pasting it in an e-mail to me. This should enable me to ask more sensible questions here - or more likely copy the info. That's for starters.2) via msn he keeps getting this advert for Disney World, which is driving him to distraction. Any suggestions. (It looks as if I'm about to rpomise Er-Next-Door a visit to Salisbury?) :blink:PS. He's running XP Home Ed. as loaded by the Shop.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this disruption. This has now been resolved They seem to get their fair share of email problems doug.Perhaps he could try Yahoo email, always been a reliable service for me, it costs nothing :)
andsome
Certainly, the NTL helpline staff in the South Staffordshire are very helpful and knowledgeable, all at the cost of a local call. He may even get free connection if he dials 150 and acts ignorant. It's well worth a try, to see if the staff local to him are as good as we get locally. The number is on the CD box. Guest nellie2
I haven't had any problems with my NTL email Doug. What email client is he using. Has he got it set up properly?
doug
Just heard from him that he's up and running now. He spoke to a very nice lady (aren't they all) at NTL and she talked him through it. It was a problem with getting the NTL address in properly. I've had a thought which I'll post in another thread. :)
