Guest nellie2
It is a bit of a disappointment that nothing has been heard from Beagle 2. If you are interested on more info then there is a site herehttp://www.beagle2.com/index.htmBut what do you think happened? Is it just a question of the thing falling down a hole or wasn't there enough time and resources spent on it before it was launched?Personaly I think the Martians are living underground and come up and grab anything interesting that lands....
Paul
During testing there were problems with the air bags that were to cushion the fall of Beagle 2, I think these have failed and Beagle 2 is in a million pieces on the martian surface :( I think that if all had gone to plan then a signal would have been received in the first instance of opportunity. If they wanted a reliable air bag to soften the impact to ground they should have used Ellas :P full O hot air
andsome
It's a real shame after all that hard work, but at least no one lost a life aboard it.

moon
They should have equipped the mothership with a loud whistle. :D Perhaps it will turn up after the holidays. :)
peter e
Bunch of t*****s. Didn't do the homework or follow the proper testing procedure. A complete waste of time and money. Let's hope that heads will roll (but I doubt it). Until we get competent managers in this country of ours, these things are bound to happen.Pete (slightly the worse for drink). ;)
Tankus
Scientists have just discovered the 1km-wide crater, which could be hundreds of metres deep, at the centre of Beagle 2's 70km-by-10km target area on the vast Isidis Planitia plain near the Martian equator. The crater was only revealed by close-up pictures of the site taken by the Nasa orbiter, Mars Global Surveyor, minutes after the probe was supposed to have landed. The Guardian

Tankus
Also funny how they got the info after the landing !They are still in with a remote chance , the crater walls may mean a very narrow transmission window....If theres enough light ....fingers crossed ...
