-pops-
I have two to build for my son shortly. When I've seen what the latest hardware is like, performance wise, I may consider a new one for myself although I've had the one I'm using at the moment for nearly two years and it's never let me down andam more than happy with it.Abit KG7AMD 1700+768 MB RAMDVD ± RWetc.
Guest Grim Reaper
dependant on your sons requirements, it may well be waiting for PCI Express which i believe is due in the second quarter of this year.
-pops-
Perhaps I should have explained a bit more. He (son) has a graphics business and I build all his machines as he can then have exactly what he wants, of the quality he wants, installed. I would guess that he'll go for a fairly high speed CPU (not top speed though), loads of RAM, several medium size HDDs, several USB ports for printers/scanners.I'll mention PCI express but I think his requirement is a bit more urgent than second quarter.I used to build loads of machines for people but age, infirmity and lack of mobility are getting the better of me these days so I only do specials now.
