For some unknown reason it has vanished from the msconfig section.The only previous problem was my system sometimes re-started instead of shut-down. mark2 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Share Posted January 11, 2004 In the absence of powerless, the contents of my boot.ini file read[boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetectyou could possibly copy/paste in to edit your boot.ini to read the same, assuming you only have one o/s, XP home . Chris Posted January 11, 2004 Report Share Posted January 11, 2004 No, there is no such option is msconfig to EDIT the boot.ini file.Enter marks boot.ini file into the boot.ini file.
