doug
Would anyone on a slow connection give me their opinion on my Website http://www.johnchapman.plus.com . I had been told that it was slow. I think the problem was due to the sizes of some of the pictures on it. In particular the photos on the Photo' from my training route page. I've just finished clobbering these 3 with Irfanview and I would appreciate some feedback as to whether, or not, it has made a difference. I think the quality of the pictures hasn't deteriorated that much. :D I've got some questions re. Irfan but they are for another post. doug
Now why doesn't the URL show as a proper URL link? If there's any problem connecting please use the www button at the bottom.
Guest Shirley_Crabtree
Now why doesn't the URL show as a proper URL link? If there's any problem connecting please use the www button at the bottom.Hi Doug.If you edit the first post put http:// in front of the URL.It'll be a clickable link then.*Edit* It wasn't particularly fast or slow and I'm on Dial-up same as Artist .And you have a PM highlighting a minor problem with one of your webpages ;) Shirl. artist
I have dial up - the site jumped straight on. I tried a couple of your pics and they loaded really fast.Must be your computer? :D
doug
No I don't think it's the PC artist. Mind I've just fitted a new CMOS battery. Don't think it would make that much difference to the loading speed on the net.I would point out that the map showing my training route is not available yet. Thats the next or next but one item on my agenda, after a bit of lurking :D
Il Capo
Took a look could do with a link back to the contents page to save using the browser back button. Other wise if this is your first attempt well done got lots of content, you may think of using thumbnails for your pictures this will help load them up. doug
That's interesting. How do I create thumbnails and will they make loading quicker for users not on BB? I've got Frontpage express. I'm going to expand the site to include experiences with wheel chairs, our electric scooter - goes in boot of the car and the new PowerTrike wheel chair adaption. So will have to think very seriously about moving back and forth across the site. Don't have that much spare time to play with it as I'm retired you see.
