doug
I've copied over my various documents and exported my address book to my second HD. I now need some advice on how to copy over my Favourites and all my current e-mails. Also where did I get iespell from?
-pops-
I think I replied to this, or a similar post, at the time of the big shutdown, doug.I suggested then that you look into the Files & Settings Transfer Wizard which is in XP. I've used it for W9X to XP and XP to XP on both Zip disks and CDS.You can transfer all your personal information from one machine (not necessarily XP) to an XP machine with the Wizard. Some claim it doesn't work properly but I've always found it sucessful.Iespell is from http://www.iespell.com/

doug
Yes OE for e-mails and thanks for staying with me.Have just tried booting from the XP Pro CD and it works. Never done an installation this way before. Always booted from a 95 or 98 startup disk and formatted from there. When I star the dreaded dead I noted that there are 3 options, 1) to setup XP press enter; to repair an XP installation using Recovery Console press R; to quite setup without installing XP press F3.Can I go for option 1 and format from there. doug
So what's the simplest way to copy over my e-mails? The export facility in OE6 seems to send them to Outlook. Been trying to find them to copy over to other HD but am getting confused. Also any reply regarding formatting using the XP CD?

doug
That was a very useful guide powerless, thank you for that. It raised another thought would it be advantageous to go NTFS rather than FAT 32 for the installed partition? Also, how can I backup my e-mails? Then I can get started. :D
