[Resolved]-Partition Magic

Recommended Posts

If I can cut across for a mo, expertec, Win2K has it's own partitioning tool.  I've just used it.  Hasn't XP got one ?

I don't know, I haven't got XP yet. It will be pre-installed on me new PC and I want to partition the hard drive without having to re-install windows.

maybe some kind XP user on here could tell us? :)

XP does have its own partitioning software but, like a lot of Windows utilities, it is basic in what it will do and I found it very confusing to use.

Look in: Right click My computer -> Manage -> Disk Management and look in the help file there for how to use the partitioning facility.

My bet is it does.  In 2K you right -click 'Computer' and go to 'Manage' .

PS.  I've read that you have a legal entitlement to insist on having the full O/S disk supplied with a new machine.  Watch out for the 'pre-installed' scam.

I will be getting a XP disc with it :)
