Filtering Based on Bayesian Algorithm

Recommended Posts

Does anyone use anything based on Bayesian Algorithms to filter out spam mail with Outlook (or similar)?

Have just downloaded and installed Outlook Spam Filter from http://www.outlook-spam-filter.com/email-spam-filter.shtml and it seems to do a fairly good job. Had to find some old spam messages that I kept for such a day to send to myself to test but out of the 20 I sent (all obvious ones) it got them all.

Will leave installed and see what happens.

Personally I feel I would prefer this approach to the 'mail filtering' that I understand some of the other systems use (but not having tested them don't know!)

Any views?

Whilst K9 may be good it doesn't look "as good" as the ones that integrate into Outlook. If I were using such a solution I wouldn't want to have my emails going somewhere else first (or being filtered before they got to me).

Outlook Spam Filter IMHO is better because it just builds itself into Outlook and then filters your mail to folders there. Much simpler.
