It's the first one I've had with a graphics card instead of onboard.I'm not having any problems but wondered what you all thought regarding updating drivers.Do I go for the driver update or is it a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
-pops- Posted February 24, 2004 Report Share Posted February 24, 2004 I'm definitely an advocate of the "if it ain't broke" philosophy. Much damage can be caused by injudicious and unnecessary fiddling about with the vital parts of your computer - both in hardware and software. Worst of all things are firmware updates for the BIOS chip and things like optical drives. If these go wrong you have a good chance of destroying the component part or even the whole machine. Driver updates can be almost as bad and I have updated drivers in the past and ended up with markedly worse performance than I had originally.If you are satisfied with the way your machine functions, leave well alone. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
