AlanHo
I just noticed that the file size shown in the Explorer window does not always correspond with the file size shown in File Properties. Does anyone have an expanation.Windows XP Home. For example - see screen shotOulook.pst file size in Explorer window 101,569 KBRight click file name then click 'properties' gives file size as 99.1 Mb (104,006,656 bytes)
expertec
1,024 bytes = 1KB, 1,024 KB = 1MB.Thus 104,006,656 bytes = 101,569 KiloBytes = 99.1 MB :bangin:
expertec
Divide the number of bytes by 1,024 and you have the number of KB, divide that by 1,024 and you have the number of MB
AlanHo
How does that explain the Explorer window showing 101,569 KB and file properties 104,006,656 bytes ?. I am assuming of course that 104,006,656 bytes is equal to 104,007 KB - or is it ?
trackrat
The number of bytes in a KB is 1,024 not 1000.So if you divide 104,006,656 by 1,024, yop get 101,569 KB which is the size of your Outlook pst file.In properties it gives it in megabytes and bytes not kilobytes.
