-pops-
Is this a private argument or can anyone join in?First of all, don't spend too much time contemplating the computers virtual navel. A computer is intended really as a means to an end - not an end in itself. It should be a tool to enable you to perform tasks more easily. To worry about such insignificant things as the difference between 2.07 and 2.08, whether real or not, tempts me to recall the dreadful phrase "get a life".Any basic knowledge of arithmetic will show you that 0.01 (which is what your stated difference is) is one part in ten thousand. Do you truly think that is worth getting your knickers in a twist about? :(

Tankus
Athlon's give their numbers as intel equivalent's ..... they run hotter, but are able to process faster....Hurdy and Andy are right ..My Athlon 2000xp runs at 1.67Mhz

Andy-2004
but i was under the impression it was the equivalent to 2.08...where does 2.08 come form?If the below was blinks computer how fast does the processor run?
Guest Blink_182_fan
i sort of understand it still runs the same as a 2.5 because there is no difference between mine and andys
Tankus
the processor runs at 2.08Mhz.... But due to AMD,s different chip architecture it can process instructions at the same rate as a 2.8Mhz intel chip....When the Athlon XD chip came out intel was pulling ahead in the clock rate , but AMD 's architecture was faster , so they decided to name their chips , not based on clock speed , but the matching clock speed of a similar Intel processor speed..My old 800 Athlon actually does run at 800Mhz because its pre XD.
