andsome
My daughters boyfriend wants me to print some photo's for him. He can wait until we go over and give me the CD with the photo's on, or e-mail me the folder. How long roughly will it take to download a folder containing about 100MB, on 600K broadband? There is no problem with him actually sending them, as he can send them outside office hours from his place of work.
madboy33
it depends on if the server will allow him to send that size file
bvw
I use http://www.photobox.co.uk/index.htmlYou can upload 100MB of photo's, send all your family and friends a link and they can view the photo's, you can pre-pay £20 and order prints from them and you'll have them Tuesday morning.Excellent service, prints cost about 19p each. Uploading 100MB will take a while, not exactly sure of the time, less than an hour maybe.
andsome
He seems to think that there is no problem in sending them. He works for The Environment Agency, and I wouldn't think that they would be with a server who would restrict them. I would prefer to print them myself as I can edit and crop them. Agent Smith
Andsome, in theory it should take you about 24 mins to download the 100 Mb, however in practice I think you will find it to be longer. As for sending the files, the problem may not be from his end (although if I was the Network Manager, I would be pretty peeded at someone attaching a 100Mb file, and would want an explanation!), but more likely that your own ISP's mailbox will refuse to recieve a file of that size. I would imagine that the solution will be to send the pictures in batches of less than 10 Mb each.Hope this info helps.Regards. Mr. M. andsome
Many thanks for your help. I will ask him to split the photo's into batches.
