AlanHo Posted March 18, 2004 Report Share Posted March 18, 2004 I am on Telewest broadband and have a blueyonder Email address.For the first time today I have received Emails from [email protected] worded as followsDear Customer,The blueyonder anti-virus system found a virus in this message which it was unable to clean and all infected attachments have been deleted. Any remaining attachments are safe to open.This is followed by details of the sender.Does this indicate that at last Blueyonder have introduced anti-virus scanning on their servers - I can find no mention on their website.Any other blueyonder subscribers on the Forum with the same experience ?? It is therefore possible to get back to the sender and "discuss" the problem.In my case that was not of interest - the three messages I received were all spam and I was glad not to have received them. We have intoduced some email security messages. You should get an offical email in the next couple of days.Over the last couple of months we have been working on a system to automatically scan any emails for viruses and worms and also to cut down on the number of spam (unwanted emails) that you receive. We are pleased to announce that we have now fully launched a system that will remove any viruses or worms contained within emails sent to any blueyonder addresses and will also delete and not deliver to you any emails that we are confident are spam and that you don't want to receive. The new system will notify you when it has detected and removed a virus from an email. A typical message is shown below:From: blueyonder anti-virus system [[email protected]]Subject: Blueyonder anti-virus notificationThe blueyonder anti-virus system filtered the following message:All messages from the system to you will be from sent from [email protected].
