Normally they a little bit of an awful lot and end up doing not much of anything at all.The current Windows operating system is typical of this with all of its add-on bits like a cut-down CD writer (shrunken Adaptec), a cut down backup system, a cut down defrag program and so on. They may all do the job but they are very likely not to do it very well and certainly not as well as the thing they were cut down from. Guest ellas Posted March 23, 2004 Report Share Posted March 23, 2004 I agree with you pops about the cutdown versions on xp but when you consider how much it costs alone to buy xp then if you buy full programs like nero, diskeeper,driveimage your talking about a lot of money which some people can't afford,so I suppose xp must be giving a bit of praise for attemping it.
