doug
Been trying to download reported updates for AVG Free for the last couple of days. Tried .cz and .com sites. I keep getting the same message from each site "The downloaded file is damaged and will be deleted. Your AVG file will not be updated!" Any suggestions please. :(
moon
Got that once a week ago, after I'd used the AVG download tweak I posted. Did you use that tweak ? I wondered at the time if AVG were hip to peeps circumventing their 'buy the upgrade' bottleneck. Haven't seen it since.
doug
Yes. I'm using the tweak.
Boris
I've had it before using the tweak !
doug
Well I've just changed back to the old url.ini and downloaded successfully. Should a note to this problem be added to Nel's thread?
bvw
Doug,I've two machines here, both have the "new" url.ini installed and I've been getting similar messages to you for a couple of days.I've just changed back to the "old" url.ini on one machine only.Tried updating each machine and they have now installed the latest updates at virtually the same time. So, to answer your question...........no. AVG updates at the moment appear to be hit and hope, just keep on trying :)

moon
That's what I used to do before the tweak. I only had the 'damaged' message once and I'm still tweaked with no waiting time at all.
