Andy-2004
In relation the the Linux challenge topic....how many partitions can you make on 1 HDD and how much space would it need to be?
Chris
Well you can have a maximum of 4 Primary partitions, you would install an OS to a primary partition. But you can have an extended partiton with as many logical drives as you want... [to a point, you either run of space or it does not become practical]Linux installation differ, it all depends what you want installed. I would say you would need 6GB to be safe. Linux will actually create 3 partitons for you...To make it easier IMO make some "free space" and point Linux in the direction of it and it will do the rest. Chris
Space is a problem Andy...Unless you want to move your files across to C: All GB of them and recreate all your partitions leaving some "free space" then you cannot install Linux = No room!
