-pops- Posted April 30, 2004 Report Share Posted April 30, 2004 Have a bit of a shock this morning when booting up.I'm using a fairly old machine today and after booting I noticed the light on the CD writer remained on (normally just a flicker early on). There is also a DVD ROM on there as well.I checked in My computer and noticed that both devices on the secondary IDE connection were missing.After a slight panic, I rebooted and noted they were missing on the drive detection during bootup as well.I shut down, opened the case and checked the connectors. After two years of almost constant use, the secondary IDE cable had loosened very slightly from the M/B connector.Everything back to normal now but, remember if this happens to you (both devices on the IDE go missing), check the plugs first :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
