It totalled a distribution net in work today , and several credit reference agencies went down today ....the cost must be in shed loads .....annoying ....eh ....? But I would almost bet that it was a Domain Name Server thing. The reason I think that is that nobody else had that problem, just people from the UK. Ensure you can view hidden and system files, and then search for a file called hostsYou can open it in notepad, and you will see the following text# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.## This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.## This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each# entry should be kept on an individual line. Using eDexter will almost eliminate that delay. By the same token, while Hosts Toggle also allows editing your Hosts file much easier than digging it up and opening it manually each time you need to, which is tedious at best, it also has other useful features. In addition to editing the Hosts file, you can also Disable, Backup, or load a different Hosts file. You can temporarily disable it with a timer to automatically turn it back on, which can be set to however many seconds you choose. Between these two programs, and WinPatrol 7 which has a Host file locking option, and many other useful features as well, you are about covered as far as Hosts files go.
