jonlebon Posted May 6, 2004 Report Share Posted May 6, 2004 HelloI run win 98 SE upgrade for win 95 P2 system.When starting up,i get the windows blue sky logo then blue screen with following message:Fatal Exception OD at 0167:BFFC9750.and it goes no further than this even in safe mode.2 days ago, power supply got replaced and when restarting, got message asking for reboot disk. The reboot and basic rescue disks i used to reboot might have been corrupted so it might be the reason for problem.Can anyone recommend a solution to this?I was thinking of getting second hard drive to install windows again and access data I d like to save on present HD . -pops- Posted May 7, 2004 Report Share Posted May 7, 2004 Hello jonlebon and :welcome: to the forum.If you suspect that your boot disks may be corrupt, the first thing to do is find someone with W98 who can prepare a boot disk for you OR go to click here and make a new one.Please get back here and let us know how it goes and if we can help further. Is the new PSU the same as the old one, and are you certain that all cables and power connectors are correctly attached?Also, have you checked within your BIOS to ensure that some of the settings have not been reset, and now need to be changed.If you manage to obtain a fresh boot disc (from somewhere like Bootdisk.com), are all the files visible in DOS?Regards.
