If there is a candidate round here in the Euro elections, I will certainly be voting for him/her. I have had more than enough of Europe trying to rule this country. -pops- Posted May 9, 2004 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2004 Perhaps I worded the initial post on this a little wrong in the sentiment I intended to convey.Robert Kilroy Silk QC was, at one time a LABOUR Member of Parliament for Knowsley, Merseyside.The UK Independence Party is not at the same end of the political spectrum as Labour and may well be classed as being at the opposite end.A person with true beliefs and a sense of ethics would stand by them and not swap sides just because he's sacked from job in the media and looking for an income. An income, it seems, from anyone who might pay it, including an organisation (the EU) that his new party is intent on destroying or, at the very least, removing Britain from membership.I have no truc with the UKIP, just the turncoat who is its new mainstream representative. We should raise the Social Security benefits in Britain, rather than bring theirs down to the pitiful amounts that the old and the needy receive here.Spend less money on so called asylum seekers and on WMD that no one is ever going to use.Like I said in my previous post "There's far too many people living in the past". We should raise the Social Security benefits in Britain, rather than bring theirs down to the pitiful amounts that the old and the needy receive here.Who is to pay to increase these benefits ?With more youngsters staying on at school and pensioners living longer, the working population (taxpayers) are becoming a smaller percentage of the overall population having to support an ever growing population of non-workers (for want of a better word)Simple economics says taxes have to go up or benefits cut.The French and Germans have already found this out with their pension schemes.
