Agent Smith Posted May 20, 2004 Report Share Posted May 20, 2004 If my memory was right, he was also getting a new zalman heatsink and fan combined. He may need to check the bios to make sure it is not set to look for an active fan. It is possible the 92mm fan on his zalman will register as turning to slowly for the bios to boot.If he has fitted the inline speed switch for the fan, tell him to remove that as well.Mr. M. Agent Smith Posted May 20, 2004 Report Share Posted May 20, 2004 Ideally you want it to be as cold as possible, but you do have to judge it against the noise the fan makes. After all, if you can get the processor to run at under 50c at full load with only 1/2 fan speed, then why have the noise of full fan speed? :D Mr. M.
