Last year, the arduous bureaucrats churned out more paper than ever before: 1.5 million pages had to be translated into what were then the 11 official EU languages.

Some of the new member states have already started grumbling that their language is not taken seriously enough by the Commission.

Spain is currently applying to have Catalan, Galician and Basque recognized as official EU languages. If accepted, it wouldn't mean that everything had to be translated into these languages, but Catalans, Galicians and the Basques would have the right to approach EU organs in their mother tongue, just as the Irish can already do in their traditional Gaelic.

The man in charge of organising it (and failing by the sounds of it) is Neil Kinnock. Made me laugh.

What can any party do? Hopefully bring pressure to bear for us NOT to hand over any more sovereignty to foreigners. If we just sit back and do nothing, our last vestiges of independence will disappear. The Tories have not put up much of a struggle so far, Labour has been a wet blanket and has handed over more and more of our previous freedoms. The Lib Dem's want us in lock stock and barrel. At least give things a try.

Unfortunately until the majority of the population waken up to the fact that for centuries we have all been manipulated, by the power seekers, through hypnosis and sleep, it matters not one jot, in the long run, who we vote for, because the government will always get in!! However, what we really need is an end to government and the start of real democracy. Unfortunately this potentially happy state of affairs gets further away with every new twist of the European screw. (The European Rapid Reaction Force is primarily a force to deal with recalcitrant nations, inside or outside Europe, if Europe is threatened.) I make no apology for drawing attention again to

UKIP supporters are mostly disenchanted TORY voters.

The Tories are not far enough to the right of the political spectrum for them.

Why not vote BNP instead, they share the same policies.

Last May the BNP had a meeting with UKIP to try and get an agreement in which constituencies it would be best, for each party to field candidates.

Although UKIP rejected these proposals, they still met the BNP, which shows that they have similar policies or they would not have agreed to meet them.

Then when he was out of a job, went to brussels

who did it by sacking the two people who had the courage to tell all about it.

Isn't this the orginization who haven't had their accounts for the last nine years signed off.

Aren't these the people who get travel expenses based on mile.age.i.e. x amount per mile,of course they all travel by car, never use planes to make it cheaper.

One could go on, but is it worth it?

Corruption piled high upon more corruption. This why we would be better off without being part of it. We constantly hear about schemes locally which are financed by the EEC. Someone on TV a night or two ago, asked the question as to exactly how much does each £1 that we get invested here from Europe cost us, the answer was £1.67. Now how does that make mathematical sense, come on someone who likes being in the EEC, CONVINCE ME if you think you can?
