Yes, but he has to make every statement into a grand theatrical performance. I am not in any way trying to excuse or condone the behaviour of the participants in violence, of whatever nationality, but the fact that they have come from the country whose sense of rectitude and normality he has had seven years to change, and has failed to do so, says far more about him, and his attitudes, than any amout of empty platitudes and aphorisms ever could do. He exudes sham sentiment. He should have hung his head in shame and said "Yes, and I claim to be their leader."

What I find odd is why those people who elected him as Leader of the Labour Party can not simply unelect him as Leader of the Labour Party. As far as I know he was never elected as PM. He simply took this by virtue (if it is a virtue!) of being Leader of the Labour Party. Some Conservative PMs have been ousted by their own party whilst in office, yet Teflon Tony seems impervious. What hold does he have over the rest of the rabble.
