My training for the Great North Run

Thought I would do an update on how things have been going. I've put a summary on my website. It is in Excel xls format. For those who care to have a look it should give some idea as to how things are going. As I mentioned previously, I had a major set back while gardening. This put my right knee out and was ordered to stop running. Because I started to stiffen up and time is ticking by I got a mountain bike and now alternate between the 2 modes of locomotion. I also had a major dose of gippy tummy. That knocked the stuffing out of me and shed 4 lb which have not gone back on.

Sponsorship is going well. I'm working through a plan to enable the most efficient method of mugging the neighbours. As you'll see from my sig the total pledge is now just over the £1000.

Thank you andsome. You may have raised a good point and fits in with a PM I've received from Our Nel.

For our newer members I'm raising funds for the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Hunters Moor, Newcastle. This is because of what they have done for my wife and, just as important, all the other patients they treat. Further information, including my experiences when I did the run for the first time last year, is available on my website. Just click on the www button below my signature. If anyone else wishes to support me please PM me by clicking on the PM button.

Weather looks a bit drier today. May go for a 7 miler down to Cox Green - and uphill all the way back. Recent rains have made the stretch on the C2C alongside BOC extremely unpleasant. Was going to go up past King Coal. At least that is mostly downhill coming back.

Thanks Nel. Hoping to get a good exposure again. Just got back from the 7.3 miler to Cox Green and back. Boy that's a bit of a killer coming all the way back up that hill. According to my Bike Odometer it's 1.04 miles. Been peering at the map to try and get an estimate for the height, without much success. Using the Explorer map and the contours are covered in other print for the parts I'm interested.

Still promise to get a good exposure on the day
