catgate
I have just run the "online" Activescan routine. (well it was online for the first one and a half hours, then it completed the operation off line for a further three hours.) Despite running AVG (every day, with weekly updates), ZoneAlarm (always on), Cookiewall (always on) and Ad-aware (weekly) I have still managed to contract W32/Gibe.C , W32/Disemboweler and Exploit/iFrame. I thought I was almost bullet proof. Activescan disinfected all occurences but two, one of which I got rid of by simply deleting the affected file, but what I can do about the following :-Virus:Exploit/iFrame No disinfected C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Default User\dztql95n.slt\Mail\mail.onetel.net.uk\Trash[~000008.txt] I do not know. I can find the location but I am unsure if I get rid of ....\Trash whether or not Mozilla will rebuild the location nexttime it needs it.Any help, as usual, gratefully received.Incidentally, even though I am running on paraffin and dial up at nominally 56k, should the operation have taken four and a half hours? expertec
I think you need to get the latest version of Mozilla (Firefox?)
catgate
The one I have was downloaded about three weeks ago. Is there one newer than that?
Scarecrow Man
may be a newer build though?I suggest deleting the ?folder? because it has the ~ in it, which usually specifies a temp file. You got the virus through e-mail, that's why its there. If your really worried, remove mozilla delete the folder then re-install.
