Its because of the tax, I'm sure ......Good quality whiskey £6 per litre (dimple ...Laprawotsits or whatever, things of my youth ) and fags £4.00 per 200 dunhills and I'm sure I saw black and gold John player specials ( I don't smoke ) ..Its doin' the time warp ........The sodding ques are full of Spanish legging it over the boarder ....single line traffic only ..one at a time , per car .....See the Spanish mopeds weaving in and out of the line .......Smuggler specials First time I drove .... forget it (3hrs ) , Park the car in Spain and walk across the boarder ( but you cannot smuggle in bulk (400 fags max) and a couple of litres , but I do a swop with the non drinking smokers ) ...cheap as chips anyway........Hotels are a rip off there and the food is a disgrace ....Fish chips and peas ( Tapas overhang ) € 15 for bad birds eye yesterdays ex frozen .....and all the retail workers are either Spanish or Hindi .......Long may it remain British ....If your doin' the Costa's ...sometimes you need a dose of semi blighty ......! Tankus Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 More cars than parking places ....best place is up by the cable car on the south end of town...but the hotel nearby is run by bastards ...........price went up twice for the rooms while I was in the foyer ...Basically all the cars keep driving aound in a continual rush hour taking it in turns to park ..If you cannot park..... you drive around......! trackrat Posted August 7, 2004 Report Share Posted August 7, 2004 I`ve been to Gib 4 times, the biggest problem is getting in from the spanish side and getting back out again and if their is a cruise ship in forget about going to the top of the Rock as the queues are horrendous.
