salo35
Ok, here is the scenarioI have a Minisystem that used to power the speakers but the cd player stopped working so someone at work threw out the system but kept the speakers. Now we have a boombox at work with a working cd player that we want to power the speakers with. Obviously the speakers were meant to be powered by something more powerful, but regardless we want to give it a shot with the boombox.I have my own idea I will post, but i want someone else to suggest something first, just so I don't taint you with my idea first. I want to spend as little money possible so a new receiver is pretty much out of the question.
salo35
Ok, for anyone that cares here's how I got it to work...I just figured it out :)Cut the heads off an RCA speaker wire, stripped the wire exposing the respective black/red and silver/blue wires...these wires are also speaker wire so I attach the speakers to the RCA wire with only two heads remaining on one side, use a y-adapter to join the black/red RCA connections and plug into the headphones of the boombox. then attach all silver/blue/black/red wires together respectively and turn on boom-box.If for some strange reason you want these directions in better detail, PM me and I'll let you know how. I really doubt anyone else was having the same problem as me though :)

joysness
Let's see if I can explain it  It's basically, a radio, with a tape deck (or 2) and a cd player all in one.Mine has an am/fm stereo, cd player and two tape decks with speakers that detach, and a 5 band graphic equalizer.Of course mine is about 16 years old. :D The new ones (here in America) are HUGE. They used to be smaller and people would carry them around (often up on their shoulders) with the volume so loud you could hear it blocks away. Now they are so big I can't imagine anyone doing that but they may still. I'm a bit out of touch with the young people these days.Hope that helps...Just found this... http://images.google.com/images?q=boombox&ie=UTF-8&hl=enEdit: Can't seem to make a link  There it is.
