doug
I received an e-mail, this morning, asking who to make the cheque out to from a sponsor to my run. I have tried to reply without success and am getting frustrated - there's money at stake. I won't give the full details for obvious reasons but hope that what I can give someone can help with. The sender's e-mail address appears to be :-[email protected]@yahoo.com.When I try to send a reply the message gets bounced with the reply that the address is invalid - I use Outlook express.I've tried changing the address by omitting @yahoo.com but again I get the same bounced message and the address has gone back to the funny one.Any suggestions please

-pops-
Try leaving out the bt components i.e. [email protected]Also I note you have a full stop at the end. Is this you being neat and tidy, doug, or did you send it like that? :)
doug
Thanks pops. That seems to have worked, so far. At least it hasn't been bounced so far, instead of immediately. It must have been a corrupted address. So provided it doesn't bounce again I'll send a more detailed reply out of courtesy instead of just the minimum one just now. Just having a quick cuppa, then plant watering before off out knocking on doors again. Very nice trip to the bank this morning. Just over £1000 in the account once cheques have cleared. doug
No it just bounced again with the message that the recipient does not have a Yahoo account? Try again later.
Guest be@vis
If it's a btinternet address then @yahoo.com is superfluous.
andsome
I sincerely hope there is no con going on here
doug
That's why I trying to be careful. If it was someone from here then they could have PM'd or e-mailed me directly. So I think it must be some local to me here. Every one who sponsored me I gave a small note about last year's amount, who and what it was for together with my URL, postal and e-mail addresses. However I'm concerned about the nature of the e-mail address and the fact that it seemed to be a blatant attempt to sign up to Yahoo messenger. r4may
Have you tried :- [email protected]That is another BT mail system on Yahoo
doug
Thanks, I'll give that a go as well. Whatever combination I try the @yahoo.com gets tacked onto the end. Like an automatic address completion. Have searched for Yahoo and have deleted the found files.

andsome
Any ideas on the final total yet, or am I being premature?
doug
Something like £3000. Mind I've still got about 250 houses to go knocking on. At this very moment Either in the bank or to be banked it's £1157.04. Off out shortly as soon as I've scrutinized the lists as to which houses to hit next. There's only one person left from here to mug.
