Just a not to say that you will now become a respected member at 750 posts and not 500.

This does not affect members who already have respected member status, but are below 750 post.

The change has come in due to the fact we will have more respected members than normal members soon, as you are all posting too fast!

Craig.

I think that anyone reaching the qualifying target (whatever it might be) should then only be granted "Respected Member" status if a majority of the Mods + Admin agree that in their postings they have made a tangible and worthwhile contribution to the Forum. i.e. encouraged its overall growth and standing and therefore deserve the prestigious title.

(Lowers head well down behind the parapet and waits for the bullets to come !)

Most of the new members will never have seen the sterling contribution you made to the previous WindowsForum !

The quality of your posts speak for themselves !

I fully agree with Boris here...... surely the title should have something to do with what the member brings to the forum and not how many times they can think of something inane to say.

Having said all that.......... I realise I am the queen of inane postings and am fully prepared to loose my title. Sigh. :(

Yes definitely the mods and admins should have a pow wow on respectability

its an excellent idea boris... but how about giving it to any member who deserves it even if he hasn't reached say 750 posts ? the rest of us can live with northys suggestion

please don't edit my post northy _/\_ ;)

I wouldn't dream of doing that -northamuk.

Hmmm...my tuppenceworth.

Any forum that rewards post counts with status of any kind is just asking for spam.

Take He He as an example. He would post any old rubbish just to boost his post count, just to get some sort of recognition....That's not what forums are about.

They're about quality posts and involvement....people making a difference

And HEY don't look at ME....I'm the worlds biggest spammer..BUT..you could reset my post-count anytime....it wouldn't bother me though....It's the being involved that matters, not the number of posts.

Cheers.

Shirl.
